Liz Boyd is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) with a proven track record in public relations, having served two governors, two statewide-elected secretaries of state, and nonprofit organizations.
Most recently, Liz served as communications director and press secretary to former Michigan Governor Jennifer M. Granholm, helping to develop and implement crisis communications plans and proactive strategies to support a broad spectrum of statewide initiatives. As one of the governor’s closest advisors, she provided counsel during a time of profound economic transition as Michigan bore the brunt of a historic economic crisis.
Liz has managed communication professionals who provided speechwriting, new media and website development, media relations, and other comprehensive internal and external communication services.
She has worked with local, state and national media, including prominent news organizations across the country. Her track record made her one of the most respected and longest serving gubernatorial press secretaries in Michigan history.
Liz is a graduate of Michigan State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a master’s degree in Advertising with an emphasis in public relations.
